It's my kitchen table.
This weekend I tackled it with a bucket of white paint and a paint brush. Here are the results.

This came out AWESOME, Shannon! However, I'm a little hurt that you broke out the paint without me...and several bottles of wine of course! =D
As far as an area rug...since you'll be dining over it...I wouldn't spend much on one in fear of food stains! Can we say, "Ikea"?
